Physical Address
Cassia Drive
Sunridge Park

This was the first village developed by MHA, and the pioneer residents took occupation in 1985. The initial village comprised 43 cottages, and was subsequently extended in 1998 via Phase 2 (19 cottages) and in 2004 via Phase 3 (2 cottages), and the Community Hall was added in 2010. Residents may choose between one- or two-bedroom units, most of which have an adjoining garage.

Most roads in the suburb of Sunridge Park, one being Cassia Drive, are named after flowers or trees, hence the village’s name of Cassia.

Residents who wish to become involved with activities at the village may volunteer to serve on committees as follows:

Liaison Committee: Members on this committee are the link between residents and management, and assist with some operational functions.

Finance Committee:  These members administer the funds raised through various functions.

Fellowship Committee:  This is a working group who plan and present various activities such as:

  • Monthly Braais
  • Quarterly Quiz Evenings
  • Monthly Men’s Hour
  • Movie Afternoons
  • Take-away meals (Fish & Chips, Soups etc.)
  • The Annual Open Day (market)
  • Weekly Craft Afternoons

Caring Committee members serve by visiting residents who are sick or have recently been bereaved.

Residents also benefit from a monthly Blood Pressure Clinic.

Every cottage has a Fibre connection (linking to an internet service provider is for a resident’s own account), and there is a well-stocked library on site.

Two-course midday meals are available to residents daily, at a cost which is much less than if they were to prepare meals themselves.
