Independent Living

  • Residents, having purchased a Life Right Endowment to the cottage, will enjoy the benefits of:
  • Living in a caring community, but one which still allows for privacy and independence
  • Comfortable accommodation in a 1 or 2 bedroom cottage, most having an adjoining single garage.  Excluding the garage, generally the size of a 1-bedroom cottage is 50m², and the 2-bedroom cottage 95m².  The majority of 2-bedroom cottages have a sunroom/study in addition
  • A safe, secure environment; all our villages have electrified perimeter fencing and automated gates, and cottages are linked to an external Armed Response and Medical Emergency service
  • Beautiful gardens and lawns, with an abundance of established trees
  • A village complex which is well managed and maintained, under the supervision and care of a skilled Complex Manager who lives in one of the cottages on the premises
  • Management expenses, building insurance, water consumed (but refer section headed Monthly Levy), complex lighting, being covered via a monthly Levy charged to all residents
  • A generous Refund Policy which is based on the original Life Right Endowment, with the balance forfeited to MHA who use that contribution for all external/internal cottage maintenance and refurbishment, and other work in the complexes and for future developments or changes
  • Access to the Frail Care as and when required or available on a temporary basis, for example post-hospital recovery, and residents obtain free access to the Frail Care for up to seven days per annum
