Physical Address
Swallow Crescent
Greenshields Park
This was MHA’s second village development, completed in 1987, and comprised 30 cottages, and later a community hall. In 1988 a further 8 cottages were built on a piece of land across the road. Four units have 1 bedroom, the others have 2 bedrooms. All have an adjoining single garage.
Roads in Greenshields Park are named after birds, and Wesley Gardens is on Swallow Crescent. This village is named after John Wesley, an 18th century Anglican cleric and Christian theologian who, together with his brother Charles Wesley, was credited with founding the Methodist movement.
There are a range of activities to participate in, as the village offers:
- Rummikub
- Carpet Bowls and Darts
- A monthly social tea
- A monthly social braai
- Film shows
- Church services
- Weekly exercise classes
- Monthly Friday evening Happy Hour
- Monthly Breakfast Outing
- Weekly Water Colour Painting Classes
- Big Screen Sport/ Other DStv Programmes available in Hall
Residents also enjoy the benefit of a monthly Blood Pressure Clinic.
Every cottage has a Fibre connection (linking to an internet service provider is for a resident’s own account), and there is a well-stocked library on site.
Two-course midday meals are available to residents daily, at a cost which is much less than if they were to prepare meals themselves.
