Our Appeal
The Bible is always a source of wisdom and encouragement. In 2 Corinthians chapter 9: verses 6-8 we are reminded: “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”.
Consistent with this Christian teaching we are appealing to existing residents, their families, those on our Waiting List, the wider public, Trusts and philanthropic organizations to donate, as generously as you are able, to our Alleviation Fund. We will be grateful to receive one-off gifts, monthly contributions, or however else you choose to donate, in whatever amounts you feel comfortable with.
Please also consider a legacy gift—a bequest in your Will. Tangibly demonstrating gratitude is often easier when it doesn’t threaten your security or your ability to continue meeting your financial and other responsibilities while you are alive. A bequest can represent a rand amount, or a percentage of the total value of an estate, or the residue of an estate. If you wish to remember MHA in your Will you should consult with your appointed Executor, attorney or financial planner, and specify that such bequest be paid to MHA’s Alleviation Fund and for no other purpose. Because MHA is a Nonprofit rather than a Public Benefit Organization, no tax incentive can be offered or provided.
